Crossfit Level 3 Trainer

Jeff is the head trainer and programmer for CrossFit Flora. He began his CrossFit journey in 2013 and has lost over 80lbs. He has a bachelor’s of science in exercise science and is a Working Against Gravity certified nutrition expert. Personally, Jeff is a x2 CrossFit quarterfinal athlete. Outside the box, Jeff excelled as a collegiate Division II Football player and was an academic all-American. Jeff has coached athletes at all levels, most notably coaching Beth Shepherd as a Masters Quarterfinal Qualifier and Ava Kump at Junior Nationals. When he is not coaching, programming, or competing you can find him spending time with his family and community.

Stephany Cooper

Owner/Olympic Weightlifting Coach

USAW Certified Coach

Stephany has been an athlete most of her life. She excelled as an athlete playing Fastpitch softball, track, and tennis. Stephany holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She began her CrossFit journey in 2013, quickly pursuing a weightlifting career.  Stephany’s personal accolades in weightlifting include multiple American Open Series Qualifications as well as holding Pan American Qualifying totals as a masters. In 2020 Stephany became USAW L1 certified coach and has gone on to coach National Qualifying athletes. Most recently coaching Ava Kump at Junior Nationals. Outside the gym, you can find Stephany playing USTA tennis, exercising yoga, and spending time with family and friends. 

Michael Nanney

Coach - CrossFit Level 1

Michael graduated from Mississippi College in 2020 with a bachelor's degree in Christian Studies. While there, he was blessed with the ability to be a part of the MC Soccer team and was also very involved in other intramural sports. He currently works as the students pastor at FBC Flora. He started CrossFit in 2021 as a competitive outlet following his collegiate soccer career. The more he did CrossFit, the more he fell in love with it. He received his L1 in the fall of 2023 and started coaching that same year. 

Beth Shepherd

Coach - CrossFit Level 2

Beth is a wife and mother of 3. A retired educator of 25 years, she holds a Master’s degree in School Counseling as well as a  National Board Certification. She started her fitness journey as a runner, began kickboxing a few years later and found her way to CrossFit in 2015 when a friend opened a local box. Her love for the sport has led her to become a 2x CrossFit Masters  quarterfinal qualifier. She holds an L1 certification and began coaching in 2020.  Outside of the gym you can find her spending time with her family and helping to manage their ranch-raised beef cattle sales operation.
